The new EU drone regulation is in force in the EU member states since December 31, 2020. The new regulation also introduced new EU drone driving licenses, which are mandatory for the operation of most drones. With the A2 EU remote pilot’s certificate, for example, drones with a take-off mass of up to 4 kg can be flown in slow flight mode with a maximum of 10 km / h up to 5 m to uninvolved people in the open category in urban areas. Training content for obtaining the A2 EU remote pilot’s certificate and the preparation process
In three webinars with live chat support, we will prepare you step by step for the theory test. The modules take place independently of each other. Due to the high demand, we offer all modules 4 times a week. In this way, all open questions can be clarified in a small group. This means that you can either visit all 3 modules in one day or flexibly spread them over several days. The content is the same in each case, so you have all the freedom to learn the material in parallel to your everyday work. In addition, you will receive the training documents as a PDF by email before each module and after each module you will have the opportunity to view the recording for 99 days until you have passed your exam.
Module 1: Technical and operational reduction of risks on the ground (duration: approx. 2 hours)
- Functions in slow-flight-mode
- Assessment of the distance to people
- The 1: 1 rule
Module 2: Flight performance (duration: approx. 2 hours)
- Typical operating range of unmanned aerial vehicles of the rotary wing, fixed wing and hybrid configuration categories
- Mass and balance, center of gravity
Module 3: Meteorology (duration: approx. 2 hours)
- Weather influences on the operation of an unmanned aircraft
- Obtaining weather forecasts
In addition, you will receive instructions for the explanation of the practical qualification according to AMC2 UAS.OPEN.030 (2) (b). This is followed by the theoretical A2 online exam in accordance with EU Regulation 2019/947. The A2 EU remote pilot’s certificate is valid for 5 years across Europe.

Requirements for participation in the EU remote pilot’s certificate exam
- Valid identity card or passport (original, for identification)
- 16 years of age at the time of the examination
- Declaration about existing investigative procedures and storage of data, waiver of claims for compensation for any damage (form will be provided by us)
- A1 / A3 EU competence certificate (must be passed in advance)
- Practice self-declaration according to EU requirements (form will be provided by us)

Online exam procedure
After attending the webinars, you can register for the online exam. We offer these flexibly several times a week. The exam comprises a total of 32 multiple-choice questions on the three subject areas mentioned above and lasts 40 minutes. To pass the exam, a total of 75% of the three subject areas must be answered correctly. The examination result will be communicated immediately after the examination. If you fail the exam, it can be repeated after 24 hours at the earliest. The A2 EU remote pilot’s certificate is valid for 5 years across Europe.
